This Informational Letter is issued pursuant to that authority granted to the InsuranceCommissioner by Chapter 33, Article 2, Sections 3 and 10 of the Code of West Virginia of 1931, asamended, in order to implement Chapter 33, Article 6, Sections 8 and 9, Chapter 33, Article 17,Section 8, Chapter 33, Article 20, Sections 3 through 7, and Chapter 33, Article 22, Section 7 ofsaid Code
Effective October 1, 1981, each fire, marine, casualty or surety Form filing submitted to theCommissioner for approval shall be accompanied by Form Filing Abstract PCA-F-81. All Rateand Rule filings shall comply with Property Casualty Procedural Information Form PCPI-R-81 andshall be accompanied by Rate Filing Abstract PCA-R-81. If a combination of Forms and Rules orRates is to be filed, it shall comply with Form PCPI-R-81 and shall be accompanied by both FormPCA-F-81 and Form PCA-R-81.1 Abstracts are not required for filings made pursuant to Chapter 33, Article 20, Section 4,Paragraph (f) (relating to certain special filings of surety bonds), Paragraph (g) (relating to specificInland Marine risks), and Paragraph (i) (relating to certain requests for consent to rate in excess ofspecific approved rates)
In the interest of uniformity, the abstract forms should only be reproduced in exact copies,however they may be reproduced on the front and reverse sides of a single sheet of paper
Filings not accompanied by the appropriate, properly completed abstracts will bedisapproved
