Is carmax a trustworthy dealer?
Yes, CarMax is a legitimate company that does what it says – it purchases your vehicle directly from you. While CarMax has an A+ score, it’s not accredited by the Better Business Bureau and has an overall score of 1.2 out of 5-star rating. It also has a rating of 1.8 on Trustpilot. Some of these complaints were from sellers who complained about the slow service.
Does carmax accept american express?
Shipping fees are separate from the cost of your vehicle and payment is required prior to shipping. For payment, we accept cash, credit (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express), or check. A CarMax associate will assist with the payment arrangements. I want a car from another location and there’s a shipping fee.
Does carmax do credit checks?
While CarMax doesn’t specifically list minimum credit approval requirements, CarMax says its financing sources accommodate most credit profiles. CarMax determines your eligibility by evaluating factors that include your application information, credit history, the vehicle you want to buy (its age, mileage and price) and your down payment amount.
Does carmax have maintenance records?
You would think they couldn't keep records on maintaining a specific vehicle if the current owner wanted them. They must have some policy that enables them to not show you the invoices of work done or records. Carmax keeps all the records on cars. I worked there. They also are one of the shadiest companies I've ever worked for.
